چکیده
Purpose: Genetic alterations of KRAS, CDKN2A, TP53, and SMAD4 are the most frequent events in pancreatic cancer. We determined the extent to which these 4 alterations are coexistent in the same carcinoma, and their impact on patient outcome. Experimental Design: Pancreatic cancer patients who underwent an autopsy were studied (n 1⁄4 79). Matched primary and metastasis tissues were evaluated for intragenic mutations in KRAS, CDKN2A, and TP53 and immunolabeled for CDKN2A, TP53, and SMAD4 protein products. The number of altered driver genes in each carcinoma was correlated to clinicopathologic features. Kaplan–Meier estimates were used to determinemedian disease free and overall survival, and aCox proportional hazardsmodel used to compare

The significance of gene profiling in diagnosis the cause of drug resistance in cancer
Chemoresistance is one of the main obstacles to the success of cancer treatment and one of the most important causes of death in patients. In the last decade, progress in high-throughput technologies, including microarray, sequencing, and bioinformatics has greatly resulted in cancer gene profiling and identification of biomarkers for cancer prognosis and prediction. This has greatly improved t...
متن کاملWhich complaint has the most clinical effect on quality of life of thyroid cancer survivors in long term follow up?
Introduction: Differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) is the most common endocrine malignancy. This malignancy generally has an excellent prognosis with more than 90% long term survival. Consequently, life quality improvement is the first priority especially in the young DTC survivors. In classic management of a new DTC patient, each therapeutic modality can significantly induce morbidities. In the...

Background The impact of cancer therapy on the reproductive potential of patients is increasingly recognized because survival rates of patients have clearly improved in recent years. The study stressed the use of AMH may allow better prediction of chemotherapy-related risk to further fertility. متن کاملAssociation of Long Term Antibiotic Use and Diagnosis of Chronic Disease
Background: There has recently been increasing interest in the role of the human microbiome in disease. Antibiotic use is known to disrupt the intestinal microbial environment and cause acute disease, for example pseudomembranous colitis. This study aimed to investigate the hypothesis that long-term antibiotic use is associated with the development of chronic diseases, i.e., Asthma, Rheumatoid ...
متن کاملP154: Role of Exosomes as Novel Biomarkers in Diagnosis and Prognosis of Glioblastoma
Glioblastoma multiform(GBM) is the most prevalent primary brain tumor. Exosomes are extracellular vehicles for exchanging information between various cell types including cancer and normal cells. Exosomes are indicative of pathophysiological conditions of brain tumors that could be used in diagnosis and prognosis of GBM. In tumors, exosomes could carry various molecules like several miRNAs and ...
